Biography

Shizuko Greenblatt Shizuko Greenblatt was born in Japan to an ancient samurai family and raised in an environment which emphasized in and honored arts. Many members of her family were trained calligraphers. After graduating from Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo, she came to the United States and continued her education at UCLA. Later she became a certified interior designer in the state of California and worked in the field for 23 years.

Greenblatt studied art and the spirit of art for 10 years with the noted late artist, Vicki Dolnick, who was a student of acclaimed artist Richard Diebenkorn.  She is an active member of Los Angeles Art Association/Gallery 825* and a national (USA) winner of "Simply Perfect", Patron Spirits Company's Art Project in 2012.  Her work is continuously exhibited in solo exhibitions at venues throughout California including the Pacific Asia museum in Pasadena, Gallery 825 in Los Angeles, TAG Gallery in Santa Monica and LA Artcore in Los Angeles.  Group exhibitions are exhibited at numerous venues nation wide curated by museum curators and other professionals, where they have received many awards and articles in the press.

She is an instructor of Japanese flower arrangement (Sogetsu School) and sings in a Japanese Chorus, Morino Kai. Greenblatt's fine art is held in private and public collections in Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, Japan, Mexico and the USA.She currently resides and works in Los Angeles.
